Our History... Ilkeston Swimming Club was first formed and established by Mrs Sue Hawley in the year of 1972. It all started out with only fifteen children that trained twice a week at our very own Victoria Park Leisure Centre. Sue stayed with the club for fifteen years and left in 1987, leaving her long lasting legacy behind with the emphasis upon swimmers enjoying their sport and being competitive.

"The difference between the possible and the impossible lies in a person's determination" - Tommy Lasorda
If your determined, you will succeed and you will achieve your goals! Swimmings meant to be a hard sport, if it was easy, everyone would swim competitively!

All swimmers in the Junior and Senior Squads need to make sure you attend pre-warmup on poolside on Sundays at 3:30pm.
You must make every effort to attend and attendance will be monitored. The reason why is because a proper warm up leads to an improved performance in the pool. In addition, stretching and land work reduces the chances of you injuring yourself in the pool.
Also, keep stretching at home as well as at land training etc. Remember the more you stretch and do your land training the more it will benefit you.
Ilkeston has swimmers lined up ready to represent their club and county in this year's County Championships. The team have been training extremely hard in the build up to the championships all with their own targets and goals in mind.
Ilkeston Swimming Club would like to wish our swimmers the very best of luck at Counties this year. We would also like to welcome our new swimmers to the squad that will also be racing at Counties with the team!
They'll be more news and build up to the big event as we get it. Timetables, schedules and draft programmes will be available to view soon.
Good luck Ilkeston SC Swimmers!
The first two rounds saw Ilkeston travel to Sutton one week and then Hucknall the week after. Both gala's were well swam by the swimmers and some excellent performances with personal best times and speeding tickets were being posted.
In round one some of our swimmers were not available due to the Long Eaton open however, the team did very well and we're only six points off fourth place! In the second round with swimmers raring to go and still excited from the opening fixture the team managed a very good fourth place with only six points separating them from third spot. So overall very good results!
Well done all swimmers that were representing Ilkeston in the first two rounds!
The next Round is in July so make sure you check the notice board on a regular basis for more team news and selections.
