Well done to all the swimmers that swam at the weekend in the JC Dobbs Trophy. Swimmers were racing at the Lammas Centre - Sutton for the opening fixture in that trophy for the 2012 season.
There were some fantastic swims coming from the squad that helped secure a very good 5th place, so congratulations to everyone who was involved. Keep up the good work in training!
Well Done!!
Our History... Ilkeston Swimming Club was first formed and established by Mrs Sue Hawley in the year of 1972. It all started out with only fifteen children that trained twice a week at our very own Victoria Park Leisure Centre. Sue stayed with the club for fifteen years and left in 1987, leaving her long lasting legacy behind with the emphasis upon swimmers enjoying their sport and being competitive.

Ilkeston SC - Promising Performance's at the Long Eaton Open 2012
Ilkeston Swimmers were on top form once again with fantastic performances from the squad in the first competitive open meet of the 2012 season. Last Sunday, swimmers made the short trip to Derby's Queens Leisure Centre for the Long Eaton Open Meet.
Ilkeston Swimmers racked up several personal best times and in most cases absolutely smashed their previous best times by several seconds. This just shows all the hard work, dedication and commitment at training is paying off!
Not only did we have lots of pb's we also had some trophy winners from ILKESTON SC!!
Congratulations to all these swimmers:
Emily Middleton
Kyle Hudson
Ben Saunders
Charlie Palmer (Boys 10 Years 50m Breast Finalist & 4th and Boys 10 Years 200m Freestyle 5th)
Harry Woods (Boys 10 Years 50m Breast Finalist & 6th)
Jo Saunders
Sophie King (Girls Under 11 Years 200m Freestyle 6th)
Shannen-Cara Sidoli
Cameron Halliday
Christel Draycott
Robert Hudson
Total Personal Bests: 26
Swimmers were very worn out and tired after a very long day of three sessions worth of swimming which totalled to 12 hours altogether. But after all said and done, they all gave good performances and have made themselves and their club very proud. The effort and team spirit continues to be an outstanding factor and key to our success! You are great ambassadors for your club and you definitely gave other swimmers a run for their money!
Keep up the hard work in training, great stuff and well done!
